Assistant Accountant

Reporting to Head of Department

Reed is excited to be assisting a globally recognised brand in recruiting an experienced Assistant Accountant.

This main scope of the role will be to assist the Head of Department in maintaining financial controls in relation to transactions across a number of multi-region entities.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Carrying out daily/monthly reconciliations
  • Analysing daily reports to ensure backup of previous day’s transactions are reflected correctly in ledgers
  • Ensuring the general ledger reconciles to monthly management accounts
  • Performing regular balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and explaining any variances
  • Reconciling sales and payments between financial systems across multiple territories
  • Producing monthly and quarterly profit share statements and payments
  • Assisting in annual audit
  • Submitting VAT returns
  • Assisting with ad-hoc projects guided by director of finance

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a similar role involving a large balance sheet and high-volume of transactions
  • Experience in large organisations with detailed processes and complex integrated systems
  • To ideally be part qualified/working towards completion e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAS
  • Strong Excel and systems skills
  • Effective planning and workload scheduling
  • Strong attention to detail
