Job Title: Cable Systems Engineer / Cable Design Engineer
Location: Remote
Length of Contract: 6 months initial contract
Pay Rate: £650-£700 per day Inside IR35 via PAYE Umbrella
Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

SSE are looking for a Cable Design Engineer to support a large offshore wind farm project.
Responsibilities
Provide technical input in support of Offshore Export cable selection and refinement.
Coordinate cable route survey scopes and assess cable burial risk/opportunities across proposed routes.
Develop Inter-Array cable layouts and optimization.
Define cable installation methodologies in support of project consenting inputs.
Assess cable rating constraints along both onshore and offshore Export Cable corridors.
Develop execution strategy for both Export and Inter-Array cables and project program.
Support engagement with the supply chain, ensuring project strategy aligns with market expectations
Experience Required
SSE is looking for candidates with the following experiences and skillsets:
Experience from FEED stage into design, ideally in HVDC.
Electrically design biased rather than installation manager experience.
Knowledgeable in ratings calculations, earthing considerations, and electrical calculations
