My client is looking for a talented design professional to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for engineering design. This role involves creating and developing schematics, models, and prototypes to support various projects. The Design Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet both functional and aesthetic requirements while adhering to industry standards.

Duties

  • Develop and refine 3D models and technical drawings on design briefs using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Utilise SolidWorks for 3D modelling and simulation of components and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure seamless integration of your designs into the manufacturing process.
  • Create detailed documentation of designs, including GD&T specifications and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to integrate continuous improvement of the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and technologies relevant to design engineering.

Qualifications

  • HND or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, is essential.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
