Principal Consultant (Business Analyst)

Location: Glasgow / Edinburgh (Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office)Salary: Up to £67,000, plus 10% bonus, generous holidays and £3.5k of additional perks.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Principal Consultant to join a dynamic and growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding client requirements, designing tailored solutions, and overseeing the delivery of these solutions. You'll work across multiple projects, ensuring quality delivery and collaborating with various teams in a matrix environment. If you're passionate about driving success in financial services projects and have a knack for leading customer engagements and solution design, this is an excellent opportunity for you.

Lead Customer Engagements: Conduct workshops to gather requirements, understand current processes, and design solutions that align with client needs.

Solution Design & Delivery: Collaborate with development, testing, and project teams to define solutions, agree on timelines, and ensure the effective implementation of the design.

Task Estimation & Bid Support: Support the discovery phase, provide task estimates, and assist in the bid approval process.

Project Monitoring: Oversee development progress, ensuring it aligns with the plan, and address any deviations or challenges.

Testing & Scope Management: Assist with acceptance testing, defect triage, and managing scope changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead meetings, document key discussions, manage customer queries and escalations, and support team improvement initiatives.

Documentation: Produce clear, detailed business and technical documentation to ensure the solution is well-defined and aligned with the client's needs.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

Required:

  • Proven skills in leading customer workshops and gathering requirements, especially in financial services projects.
  • Expertise in overseeing defect triage, contributing to test plans, and aligning them with solution design.
  • Solid understanding of change control processes and managing scope changes effectively.
  • Knowledge of software development and implementation phases.
  • Experience in process redesign for better and more efficient outcomes.
  • Ability to produce detailed, clear solution requirements and documentation.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing both in-person and remote workshops.
