MEDICAL VAN DELIVERY DRIVER DAYS - B LICENCE - GLASGOW

BASED: GLASGOW Depot, Unit 1, Glasgow Trade Park, Springhill Parkway, GlasgowG69 6GE

HOURS: MONDAY- FRIDAY - START TIME - 08:00Hrs (40 48 Hours per week)

SALARY : £24,133.40 P/A (40 hours) - £28,953.60 P/A (48 hours ) at £11.60 per hour, Saturday and bank holiday (optional) paid at time and half rate at £17.40 per hour.

* Additional Client Allowance applicable to this role - £13 per day - £3380 per annum. *

The company specialises in active temperature-controlled deliveries to hospitals, pharmacies, wholesalers and medical care surgeries as well as to end patients which it serves through its homecare business. Its customers include some of the best known pharmaceutical brands in the world.

As a Medical Van Driver you will be required to deliver medication to designated hospitals each day, in temperature controlled vehicles and pallets. This will be 1 hospital delivery per day and will involve scanning pallets/boxes at the depot. Loading stock to the vehicle. Upon at arrival at the hospital scanning of all stock is required. You will then unpack all stock and take to the correct hospital departments. Product lines and numbers are then to be checked against the packing list and stock rotated and to be put away. Accuracy is essential for this role as Drivers are responsible for conducting stock counts. A long time will be spent working in the hospital chillers, and most hospitals require you to be on site all day for this niche service we provide to our clients.

Starting at approx. 08:00 Hrs, youll work a minimum of 40 hours per week and must be flexible and prepared to work additional hours as and when required to meet our service requirements which may be of an urgent medical nature.

For this role, you may expect to work on average 40-48 hours per week on a Monday - Friday basis with bank holiday working as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Check and scan all consignments

Complete daily safety checks of vehicle and refrigeration unit

Deliver consignments on an accurate and timely basis ensuring products stay within the required temperature range

Ensure that records of deliveries are electronically captured and driver manifests are completed

Maintain daily communications to provide service updates

Demonstrate professional and safe driving competency at all times

Present a smart working appearance at all times


Key Skills/Experience/Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years driving experience.

Must hold a B category driving licence (ideally no more than 3 points).

Previous delivery driver experience advantageous, temperature controlled experience desired but not essential.

Excellent communication, customer service skills, and attention to detail.

Ability to build effective working relationships with customers/clients/hospital staff whilst appreciating the need for maintaining confidentiality.

Excellentorganisation skills with the ability to prioritise and use own initiative.
