Day to Day Duties
Your duties as a 3.5 Tonne Driver will involve but not be limited to:
- Driving delivery vans safely and efficiently
- Conducting vehicle inspections
- Delivering parcels to customer's homes and businesses
- Your route will be planned according to delivery timeslots for customers
- Your route will be loaded onto a hand-held unit, with the route mapped out according to delivery slots
- You will be delivering between 65 -80 parcels, but this is made easier by being programmed into the hand-held unit
- Achievable targets due to customers having already been allocated a timeslot for the delivery
Essential Skills
As a 3.5 Tonne Driver you will need to:
- Must have held a valid UK Category B Driving Licence for at least one year
- No major endorsements: no DD, DR or IN's or any major endorsements due to client's insurance
- No more than six points for minor infringements
- ** Please note for this role you will be required to provide us with details so we can process a Disclosure Scotland Check for the client
- ** You will have five years traceable work history **
Desirable Experience
- Multi drop experience / courier delivery experience preferred but not essential
Training
- You will receive training that will involved accompanying another driver for up to one week to observe
