We are seeking reliable and skilled Class 1 Truck Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and professionalism, as well as the ability to operate single and double decker trailers effectively.
Responsibilities
- Operate Single and Double Decker lorries for the delivery of goods to various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo, securing it appropriately to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
- Report any vehicle maintenance needs or accidents immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving license (CDL) with a clean driving record (maximum 6 penalty points accepted)
- Experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving is preferred.
- Familiarity with double decker trailer operations is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be physically fit, capable of lifting heavy loads when necessary.
