Job Title: Class 1 Driver (Day Shift) - Temp to Perm

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £32,000 per annum (Days)

Working Days: Day Shift (1 role): Monday to Friday

Contract: Temp to Perm

Role Summary:Our client is seeking experienced Class 1 Drivers to join their team based in Glasgow. As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and collection of goods throughout the UK. You will adhere to all relevant transport legislation and ensure the security of loads during transit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out deliveries and collections across the UK.
  • Load and unload cargo safely, in line with company guidelines and using appropriate equipment.
  • Ensure the security of loads during loading, transportation, and delivery.
  • Adhere to vehicle safety regulations, including operating tachographs and complying with the Working Time Directive.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid C+E Licence is essential.
  • Valid Driver CPC (DQC) card.
  • Digital Tachograph card required.
  • Minimum of 2 years LGV vehicle driving experience.
  • Must be over 25 years old due to insurance requirements.
  • Solid understanding of EU regulations and the Working Time Directive.
  • Excellent knowledge of major UK roads and geographical areas.
  • A sound understanding of the Highway Code, including speed limits for different vehicle types and road categories.
  • Experience in manual loading, unloading, and securing freight.
  • Clean driving record with no drink or drug-related endorsements in the past 10 years, and no disqualifications within the past 5 years.
  • Unacceptable endorsements include: IN, CD, DD, DR, BA.
