Our client, a leading provider of escorted tours, is seeking Business Development Manager to join their growing team. You will be responsible for identifying new sales opportunities as well as maintaining strong relationships with existing accounts. This is a remote role although you must be based in Scotland with a salary of up to £40,000 plus car allowance and bonus.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance the performance of your accounts.
  • Provide mentorship, training and guidance to agents, driving revenue and profitability.
  • Use your creativity to achieve the best results, demonstrating your impact through regular reports.
  • Manage a defined territory and customer base, acting as the first contact for travel agencies.
  • Develop new agent strategies and routes to market.
  • Conduct customer and store visits, meetings, and presentations.
  • Oversee strategic planning of sales activities and monitor revenue development.
  • Maintain and improve company Trustpilot score.
  • Represent the business at industry events and occasionally travel to their Ireland HQ for meetings.

Business Development Manager skills required:

  • Previous experience in a B2B and B2C sales role within the travel industry is desirable.
  • Ideally based in Scotland.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and planning skills.
  • Strong team player with a creative approach to solving commercial challenges.
  • Confident in delivering presentations to small and large groups.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, prioritising objectives, and driving performance.
  • Understanding of negotiation techniques and excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Flexibility to work some weekends and evenings and travel extensively across Scotland.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Clean UK Driving License.
