With expertise spanning water, marine, land remediation, and energy sectors, our client seeks an experienced Sub Agent to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis.

This role requires a willingness to travel and work across various project sites throughout Scotland.

Role Overview

As a qualified Civil Engineer, you will step into the diverse and challenging role of Sub Agent. This position offers a blend of technical, quality, programming, and contractual responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity to develop into a well-rounded professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Management: Monitor programme constraints and drive works to meet set targets.
  • Site Supervision: Oversee construction site management, ensuring operations run smoothly.
  • Meetings & Communication: Participate actively in pre-start and progress meetings on-site.
  • Planning & Documentation: Prepare detailed site plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Cost Control & Scheduling: Exercise strong cost management and adhere to schedules.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental management plans.
  • Programme Adherence: Drive progress in line with schedules while meeting safety and environmental standards.
  • Client Reporting: Provide detailed reports on contractual milestones to the client.

Candidate Profile

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Qualifications:
    • A minimum of an HNC-level education in Civil Engineering.
    • Valid SMSTS and First Aid qualifications.
  • Experience:
    • A proven track record in civil engineering projects, particularly in a principal contracting environment.
    • Proficiency in setting out and other technical aspects of civil engineering.
  • Skills: Strong organisational and communication abilities to coordinate across teams effectively.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential.
