Finlay Jude are supporting a long term client in seeking a talented and driven Commissioning Engineer to play a key role in delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Scotland’s central belt.As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of innovative water solutions, ensuring the seamless integration, commissioning, and handover of essential MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) elements across our projects. What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Ensure projects are executed to the highest standards in time, cost, and quality.
  • Work with our planning team to align MEICA commissioning programmes with overall project timelines.
  • Develop and implement project-specific Commissioning Plans at every phase.
  • Maintain a comprehensive commissioning diary, providing key updates to stakeholders.
  • Oversee sub-contract labour, ensuring safe systems of work and compliance with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) standards.
  • Work alongside project leaders to deliver cutting-edge water infrastructure solutions.
What would make a successful Commissioning Engineer:
  • Technical Expertise: ONC/HNC or Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
  • Specialist Knowledge: Experience in WIMES, ICA (Instrumentation, Controls & Automation), and telemetry systems.
  • Industry Insight: Strong understanding of pumping systems, CSOs, dosing systems, screens, and associated instrumentation.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive, solution-driven approach to engineering challenges.
