Your New Role

As a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer, you will be a key leader responsible for managing and overseeing major water infrastructure projects. You will spearhead the design, delivery, and execution of solutions, ensuring projects meet regulatory requirements and client expectations. As a senior team member, you will mentor junior staff, foster client relationships, and drive innovation in water and wastewater engineering.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of projects.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, including adherence to CDM regulations and business management systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and team members.
  • Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines effectively.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring strong, ongoing relationships.
  • Promote innovation and the adoption of new technologies in the water sector.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and sustainability in all project activities.


What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Significant experience in civil engineering design and project management, specifically within the water or wastewater sector.
  • Strong understanding of water engineering principles, hydraulic systems, and infrastructure design.
  • Leadership skills with a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
  • Excellent technical expertise in water infrastructure, wastewater infrastructure, and treatment works.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as Civil 3D and other engineering design programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations, health & safety legislation, and industry best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients, stakeholders, and colleagues effectively.
  • Chartered status or working towards chartership (ICE, CIWEM, or similar) is required.
  • A passion for continuous professional development and a drive to innovate in water engineering.


Location & Flexible Working

Primary locations for this role are Glasgow or London, with potential for Sheffield or Exeter for the right candidates.

For Principal+ level candidates, we are open to fully remote working, with the potential to establish and lead a new office in a suitable location.
