Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Glasgow

We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join an established, multi-disciplinary consultancy and play a pivotal role in the delivery of innovative infrastructure projects, with a focus on transportation and rail sectors.

This position offers the opportunity to lead projects, manage and mentor a talented team, and develop pragmatic solutions that deliver value for clients.

Senior Geotechnical Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Lead concept and detailed geotechnical designs, including foundations, slope stability, retaining walls, and more.
  • Prepare technical reports such as ground investigation and geotechnical design reports.
  • Identify geotechnical risks and propose effective management strategies.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers, ensuring quality and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cost-effective, practical solutions.
  • Prepare fee proposals and contribute to business development by maintaining client relationships.
  • Oversee the commercial aspects of projects to achieve profitability without compromising quality.

Senior Geotechnical Engineer Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (MSc in Geotechnical Engineering advantageous).
  • 4-6 years of geotechnical design experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Chartered or near-chartered status with ICE or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, geotechnical tools) and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of Eurocode and CDM regulations; rail experience advantageous.
  • Clean driving license.
