About the Role:

Our client, a reputable and established Civil Engineering Main Contractor, is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join their team. This role will initially be based in Central Scotland, with the opportunity for travel as project locations vary. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in civil engineering, particularly on heavy civil infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on substations and renewable projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting Out: Perform precise setting out for construction works to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain high standards of safety on-site by strictly adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with management, site staff, and subcontractors to oversee daily site operations.
  • Quality Assurance: Manage and maintain Quality Assurance systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping and administration.
  • Plan Review: Check project plans, drawings, and quantities for calculation accuracy.
  • Support Team Management: Assist the Project Manager and Site Agent with additional site engineering duties as needed.
  • Client Liaison: Act as a point of contact between project management and clients to facilitate communication and progress.

Essential Requirements:

  • Education: Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience working as a Site Engineer with a Civil Engineering Contractor.
  • Project Experience: Prior experience in renewable and substation projects, as well as infrastructure and groundwork projects.
  • Qualifications: A valid CSCS card is essential.
  • Driver’s License: Must hold a full UK driver’s license.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours and travel across Scotland as required by project demands.
