Job Title:

Site Service Engineer

Purpose of the Role:

The Site Service Engineer should be a multiskilled engineer and will report into the Engineering Site Lead/ Engineering Manager. They will be expected to carry out engineering/maintenance tasks to support the engineering department, taking up the bulk of the active time on site in the role.

The Site Service Engineer will also manage the engineering stores with timeous stock checks and replenishment and will carry out the daily and weekly site services checks. In maintaining the engineering stores the coordinator will be liaising with suppliers and contractors to ensure the timely delivery of spare parts and consumables.

The role will be responsible for the upkeep of the purchase requisition system (IFS), including ordering, purchase order creation, distribution, and maintenance of relevant documentation. Creation and upkeep of a critical spares list is essential to ensure operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Maintenance Tasks

On and offline maintenance pertaining to parts of plant within the factory and out of the factory in the service and utilities area

Assisting the other members of the engineering team carry out maintenance tasks during a breakdown

Stores Management:

Maintain and organize the engineering stores area, ensuring it is well-stocked and items are easily accessible.

Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and consumables, initiating orders to replenish stock as needed.

Develop and maintain a critical spares list with the site lead to minimize downtime and ensure essential parts are always available.

Conduct regular inventory audits to verify stock levels and identify any discrepancies.

Procurement and Supplier Liaison:

Liaise with suppliers and contractors to arrange timely delivery of materials, spare parts, and consumables.

Manage the IFS purchase requisition system, including creating purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Work closely with suppliers to negotiate terms, manage relationships, and resolve any issues related to orders or deliveries.

Maintain records of all purchases, deliveries, and inventory transactions.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Assist in ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations within the engineering department.

Ensure all stores and materials handling procedures meet safety standards.

Experience and Qualifications:

Required:

Multiskilled engineer

Previous experience in a coordination, stores management, or administrative role, ideally within an engineering environment

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Experience in inventory management and procurement processes.

Proficient in using computer software, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and familiarity with ERP systems such as IFS.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
