My client, a specialist UK based Engineering Consultancy which specialises in Drainage, Civil and Structural Engineering, is searching for a Technical Director to join and grow a team of Flood Risk and Drainage specialists based in Glasgow.

It is essential that applicants have a strong academic background in a relevant discipline including a BSc and/or MSc in a relevant discipline and have achieved or are close to achieving Chartered Status.

Applicants are also required to have experience working for a UK based Consultancy or Local Authority specialising in Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Drainage Strategies, Drainage Strategies and Design.

You are also required to have experience managing and mentoring teams, managing projects and preparing bids and developing new business opportunities with Clients.

It is also beneficial for applicants to reside locally as you will be expected to work from the office to train and mentor staff.

As a Technical Director, you will join a specialist team in Glasgow. You will be expected to manage, review and check technical work spanning Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Consequence Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans, Drainage Strategies and Renewable Energy Projects.

You will also be required to liaise with Clients to discuss project development, progress and new business opportunities. Current Clients include, Renewable Energy Companies, Housing Developers, Investment Companies and Local Authorities.

As a Technical Director, you will be expected to;

-Prepare bids and tenders.

-Develop new business opportunities with new and existing Clients.

-Promote the services of the Company.

-Manage and mentor team members.
