Grounds/Road Person Job Spec
Urgently needed
Glasgow / Scotland
Full-time, Contract
12.00 - 15.00 an hour
Hours 8am-430pm

The main duties would include;
* Build, widen and resurface roads.
* lay pavements, kerbs, Tactiles, paving stones and drains.
* Maintain roadside verges and central reservations.
* Digging trenches for laying cables and pipes for services.
* Using hand tools, such as picks and shovels, using machinery such as drills, cement mixers and rollers.
* Mixing and spreading concrete, tarmac, gravel and crushed stone.
* Filling in potholes and resurfacing cracks.
* Site Set Up - Putting up fences, barriers (called vehicle restraint systems) and road signs.
* Carrying out excavator inspections to ensure good functioning.
* Digging foundations and levelling the ground.
* Carrying out operations that lift large volumes of material.
* Understanding and interpreting technical drawings and plans.
* Demolishing any existing structure.

The successful candidate will have;
* A hardworking, reliable work ethic, flexible as overtime & OOH works may be required depending on client / job requirements.
* Previous fabric maintenance in commercial environments, ideally Shops, offices, Distribution centres.
* A HSE understanding.
* Full UK Driver's License - Clean
* Previous use of handheld technology (PDA)
* A person who remains calm, cool and in control under pressure?
* Take pride in doing everything you do to the highest standard.
* A good communicator, who understands the importance of customer service.
