Berry Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Section Foreman to play an integral part in assisting the Construction Manager on projects and schemes, to achieve delivery, whilst maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control.

Shift Pattern: 2 weeks of night shift (Sunday - Thursday) 20:00 - 06:00 and then 4 weeks of day shift (Monday - Friday) 07:30 - 17:00 on a rotational basis. Rate of Pay: Up to £283 per dayLocation: Braid Square, Glasgow

You would be responsible for:

  • Providing supervision and support to the subcontractors and management team
  • Understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications
  • Managing, supervising and mentoring gangers and supervisors to ensure high levels of supervision, engineering control and generation of appropriate records
  • Ensuring all staff, subcontractors and visitors are properly inducted, meet the competencies required of them and hold relevant qualifications and tickets
  • Adopting and promoting a cost-conscious attitude through efficient use of company
  • Communicating with commercial staff to ensure all records for measurement and payment purposes are prepared promptly, in appropriate form
  • Liaising with general foreman/Construction Manager to ensure adequate work preparation and resources availability
  • Assisting the Construction Manager as required to procure necessary materials, sub-contracts and plant in sufficient time
  • Chairing weekly site meetings and Tool box talks on behalf of our client
  • Managing quality systems including our client's internal systems and Temporary works design
  • Managing staff below and helping develop existing and future talent
  • Be a leader and promote digitalisation, equality, welfare and mental health
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports and contribute to commercial aspects of the project.
  • Manage the site team and projects program to ensure delivery and high standards of quality are met at all times.
  • Ensure timesheets and day works records are collated each day/week
  • Coordinate all subcontractors works to ensure there is no clashes and H&S issues.
  • Fill in Daily Diary
  • Ensure program targets are met and liase with CM/planner to get up to date program information and also track progress daily/weekly
  • Quality management
  • Carry out inspection as a TWS under TWC control

Qualifications/Experience:

  • CSCS Level - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • Demonstrable experience at Foreman and section foreman level within a civil engineering construction environment supports your effective communication and leadership skills
  • TWS
  • First aid
  • NRSWA
