Head of Engineering (Rail / 4 day week)Glasgow £65,000-£75,000 + Progression + 35 hour week + Opportunities to compress hours over 4 days + Company BenefitsAre you a Head of Engineering or similar from a Rail background looking a specialist, off the tools role offering technical autonomy to oversee the Engineering department within a well-established company who offer bespoke solutions for a dynamic client base in a role offering a 4 day week and the chance to progress through to directorship?This well-established company develop bespoke Engineering carriages for high end rail companies, working with several major names within the industry. They have seen continual growth since their establishment 25 years ago to the point they now have 30 employees and due to an ever increasing workload they are looking to grow their management team.In this role you will be the go-to Engineering specialist within the company as you play a key role in day-to-day depot operations in regards to identifying any technical issues and problem solving, in addition to managing maintenance schedules and dealing with documentation and compliance processes. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of 2/3 engineers and liaise closely with other departments as you play a key role in the tight-knit senior leadership team.This dynamic role would suit a Head of Engineering or similar from a Rail background looking for a specialist leadership role within a company offering a 4 day week and the chance to autonomously oversee onsite operations.The Role:

  • Identify technical issues, set plans and delegate to relevant departments
  • Implement process improvements and cost saving measures
  • Deal with documentation and ensure compliance to procedures
  • Oversee a team of 2/3 Engineers and liaise with other members of the senior leadership team
  • Play a key part in fleet, depot and maintenance operations
  • 35 hour week- opportunity to work 4 day week
