We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contracts Manager to join our team and oversee the end-to-end management of our contracts

Job Summary: The Contracts Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive management of contracts from the point of sale handover through to final completion and handover. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, capable of managing all aspects of the contract, including procurement, programming, design coordination, client liaison, health and safety compliance, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), applications, and variations.

Key Responsibilities: Contract Management: Take ownership of contracts from sales handover, ensuring a smooth transition and clear understanding of project requirements.

Manage all contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions. Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to agreed timelines and budgets.

Procurement: Oversee the procurement of materials and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.

Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms. Ensure all procured items meet the project specifications.


Programme Management: o Develop and maintain detailed project programs, identifying critical paths and potential risks.

Monitor progress against the program and implement corrective actions as necessary. Provide regular progress reports.

Design Coordination: Liaise with design teams to ensure accurate and timely production of drawings and specifications.

Review and approve design submissions, ensuring compliance with project requirements. Resolve design related queries.

Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication.

Address client queries and concerns promptly and professionally. Provide regular project updates to clients.

Health and Safety: Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations on all project sites.

Develop and implement site-specific safety plans. o Conduct regular site safety inspections

RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements): Develop and review RAMS, ensuring they are comprehensive and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Communicate RAMS to site teams and ensure understanding and implementation


Applications and Variations: Work closely with the Commercial Manager to Manage applications for payment, ensuring accurate and timely submission.

Identify and manage variations to the contract, ensuring proper documentation and approval. Negotiate variation costs with clients.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and correspondence.

Ensure all documents are stored correctly.


Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the construction or manufacturing industry, ideally with experience in steel doors, screens, or fire-rated products.
Strong understanding of contract law and construction practices.
Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field (e.g., degree, HND, or equivalent).
CSCS card, SMSTS or SSSTS qualifications are desirable.
Strong procurement experience.
