A leading construction consultancy is seeking a skilled CDM Advisor to join their team, working on a flexible basis with only 2 - 4 days per month required in their Glasgow office.

This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to provide expert CDM advice across a variety of high-profile projects, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and promoting health and safety best practices throughout the design and construction phases.

The CDM Advisor Role

As the CDM Advisor, you will play a key role in advising clients, architects, and contractors on health and safety matters, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations. You will conduct site inspections, prepare safety plans, and provide guidance on design risk management, helping to ensure safe and successful project delivery. With the flexibility to work remotely, this role provides an excellent work-life balance while still offering the opportunity to be involved in innovative projects across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert CDM 2015 advice to clients, design teams, and contractors.
  • Conduct design risk assessments and assist with the preparation of pre-construction information.
  • Review and approve construction phase plans and health and safety files.
  • Carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and design teams to integrate health and safety into the design process.
  • Support junior team members and provide training on CDM regulations and best practices.
  • Attend the Glasgow office 2-4 times a month, with the flexibility for remote working.

The CDM Advisor

  • Degree in a construction-related field.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Membership with IOSH, APS, or similar professional body is preferred.
  • Proven experience in providing CDM and health and safety advisory services.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in relevant software and tools.
