Our client, a leading organisation in the Defence and Security sector, is seeking a highly skilled Engineer - Mechanical - HVAC to join their team in Scotstoun. This is a contract position within the Maritime Naval Ships business unit, focused on a key project in Canada. The role requires expertise in HVAC design, calculations, and schematics, with hybrid working arrangements that include 1-2 days per week on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing HVAC designs, including calculations and schematics
- Utilising AutoCAD and FORAN software for design work
- Collaborating on the Stage 1 design of the Canada Project
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards
- Working closely with the project team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
- Providing technical support and expertise throughout the design process
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HVAC design engineer within shipbuilding, building services, or nuclear offshore environments
- Strong proficiency in HVAC calculations and schematic design
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and FORAN software
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- BPSS security clearance or ability to obtain it
- Willingness to adhere to hybrid working arrangements requiring 1-2 days per week on-site
