Electrical Project Engineer

I am assisting a large manufacturing client of mine with the process of securing an Electrical Project Engineer for their Glasgow operation.

Job Summary:Your role will be to support the Project & Service Engineering Team developing your own skills and knowledge of electrical control systems (Training can be provided). This role fits within a direct response service division and will work collaboratively with all service & support activities.

Your main duty will be to ensure the projects are operating on time and within budget for the client and be the point of contact when there is any queries or advice for the client.Main Tasks1. Manage and own projects from start to finish and ensure planned deadlines are met,2. 5Interpret, understand, and negotiate where necessary contractual obligations arising from customer enquiries or orders and communicate them with other staff as necessary3. Assess site work schedules ensuring that all service work is planned, prepared and carried out in an effective and efficient manner.4. Compile Risk Assessments and Method statements.5. Generate Electrical Drawings for all elements of the project's requirements (AutoCAD Electrical).6. Carry out site surveys and/or attending site meetings when required. (UK & overseas)7. Occasionally attend projects to support engineers and provide on-site installation, commissioning guidance.8. Ensure that the technical standards are maintained in all aspects of our project design work, in order that safe and successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved9. Prepare and send quotations for customer enquiries10. Sales order processing functions (input orders, acknowledgement, support and invoice) including progressing customer orders.11. Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments, verbally & in writing, as required to co-ordinate orders12. Purchase and supply functions associated with customer orders and related stock / supply from pre-agreed suppliers & prices.13. Contactable by telephone outside of normal working hours.14. When necessary, they carry out other department & sales related company functions.All of the above are carried out within the guidelines of the companies' Quality and Health & Safety Policies.Principal Skills
