Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Remote
To serve as the Technical Authority for electrical activities on managed assets within top tier COMAH sites, ensuring they are safe, reliable, robust, and compliant with all relevant policies and regulations. Additionally, to oversee the completion of engineering works to specification, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
Self-Management:
- Adhere to fundamental principles, promoting process safety as a core value.
- Contribute to the Asset Management Team to support business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements, particularly regarding safety and safe systems of work.
- Manage time and resources effectively, ensuring adherence to health and safety responsibilities.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain professionalism and effective communication in all activities.
- Provide reports and management information as required.
- Uphold high standards of probity and confidentiality.
Finance:
- Ensure activities comply with accounting procedures, including proper authorisation and timely submission of expenses.
- Adhere to procedures for the proper use and care of assets, equipment, and materials.
- Contribute to budget planning and manage activities within approved budgets.
Operations:
- Oversee all electrical systems and equipment associated with managed facilities, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance.
- Take technical responsibility for high-voltage electrical equipment in distribution systems.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on all electrical activities.
- Identify improvement opportunities for existing infrastructure and introduce new technologies.
- Prepare scopes of work for electrical systems at various design stages and assist other disciplines with electrical aspects.
- Monitor contractor progress, resources, and expenditures to align with strategic plans.
- Conduct audits to ensure systems and equipment comply with standards and maintain audit readiness.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies on health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Develop and review policies, strategies, and performance frameworks for maintenance management in electrical applications.
- Support electrical maintenance operations and evaluate system reliability.
- Deliver maintenance awareness and education programs.
- Ensure systems and equipment performance meet targets and approve major changes.
- Provide solutions for issues ranging from short-term problem-solving to long-term strategy development.
- Undertake additional projects as required.
