Role Overview
As an Estimator, you will work closely with the Commercial Manager, taking the lead on estimating for projects ranging from individual rooftop solar installations to large-scale infrastructure and construction renewables projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tenders to understand project scope and timelines.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates (BoQ) and compelling tender submissions, including programmes of work, risk registers, and tender qualifications.
- Create tender packs for subcontractors, covering groundworks and electrical installations.
- Maintain relevant project trackers.
- Work with in-house design, procurement, and delivery teams.
- Attend site visits to better understand client requirements.
What You'll Need
- A qualification in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or construction management.
- Experience in estimation within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or M&E sectors.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand client needs and develop clear, coherent bids.
- Good understanding of contracts and commercial risk.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of construction and M&E standards.
- Experience in the renewable energy sector and knowledge of solar PV design software is a bonus.
