Salary/ Pay rate/ Benefits: Depending on experience
Location: Newcastle or Glasgow - Hybrid available, 2 days in office per week
Hours of work: Up to 40 hours per week

Applicants must have experience of the following:

- Proven track record in safety within nuclear, defense or another highly regulated industry
- Honours degree or equivalent in physics, mechanical engineering or related discipline
- Chartered status or working towards it
- Able to produce and review high-quality technical reports
- Able to lead technical teams and mentor junior staff
- Able to identify their own technical limitations
- Able to gain the necessary clearance

Role information:

- Provide technical leadership
- Undertake hazard/fault identification studies (e.g. HAZOP, HAZOP, FMEA)
- Undertake qualitative and quantitative hazard analysis assessments
- Undertake radiological hazard assessments
- Produce safety case reports
- Carry out ALARP assessments
- Provide support to engineering substantiation activities
- Liaise with regulatory organisations when required
- Develop and review safety management arrangements
- Manage and lead safety case activities and teams
