Your new companyA well known public sector organisation based in Glasgow. They are in the midst of a modernisation project across their IT estate and are keen to place their digital services at the heart of what they do. This is an exciting time to join the business and be a part of wide-reaching transformational change within a crucial government department. Your new roleAs an enterprise architect, you will pinpoint key areas for change to ensure quick and effective delivery. You will lead the development of cross-functional capabilities that drive transformation and manage the enterprise architecture vision, strategy, and roadmaps from business, technology, and data perspectives, covering current, future, and transitional states.Your role will involve advising and promoting collaboration across the organisation, understanding its ecosystem and interdependencies, including reference architecture. You will take a strategic view across all architectural domains, portfolios, and programs, guiding the organisation to make informed business, technology, and data decisions. By advocating for reuse, sustainability, and scalability, you will help maximise value and reduce risk.You will establish architectural principles, policies, and standards, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with the enterprise architecture strategy. Additionally, you will help develop the architecture community and conduct industry horizon scanning to identify emerging trends and their potential impact and opportunities for the organisation.What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will have experience of the following:

  • Track record of Enterprise scale architecture delivery
  • Able to demonstrate examples of creating architecture frameworks and best practice
  • Worked within multi disciplinary teams across, data, security, applications and software architecture
  • Leadership experience is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of software applications and ideally coming from a technical background
  • Able to deal with technical and non-technical stakeholders and simplify technical concepts
