We have a General Operative position available within Aggregate Industries Chryston site. This site is responsible for the manufacturing of concrete products to both domestic and commercial customers.

The successful applicant will be someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and is eager to learn, enthusiastic and a supportive team player.

  • Role: General Operative
  • Location: Aggregate Industries, Auchengeich Rd, Moodiesburn, Glasgow G69 0JL
  • Rate: £14.09ph
  • Overtime: OT 1.5 on anything over 40 hours
  • Contract length: 3 months initially but with the view to go permanent or offer an extension
  • Shift Patterns: 06:30-15:00 Mon-Fri (40 hours per week)
  • Start: ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Operating the Fixed plant (Hydraulic Presses etc. w/training provided)
  • Maintaining the plant including basic maintenance and greasing
  • Working at height (via ladder) as part of maintenance
  • Maintaining the site including cleaning duties
  • Potentially Driving a loading shovel and Front End Loader (training provided)
  • Using the computer control system for the plant
  • Navigating the program of works via computer
  • Using 2 way radio to communicate with site
  • Practising the highest standards of Health and Safety at all times

Essential requirements:

  • Driving licence and use of own vehicle
  • Strong work ethic and desire to learn
  • Previous experience working in an industrial or production based environment
  • Previous experience working outdoors
  • A genuine interest in Mechanics and Landscaping
  • Front End Loader driving experience (desirable, training will be provided otherwise)
  • Ability to work at height
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct manual handling and considers themselves to be physically fit
  • Sound IT literacy skills
  • Good knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
