Robert Half is delighted to be retained by a market-leading organisation near Glasgow, embarking on an exciting new chapter as they seek to appoint a new Chief Financial Officer.

The CFO is accountable for all financial activities, driving strategic development of the business, internal and external risk identification/mitigation and compliance undertaken by the Company. The role will report into the Managing Director for all financial aspects, financial compliance, managing corporate structure, risk, compliance and departmental operational targets.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for protecting the organisation through high standards in operations, service delivery, and risk management in compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee budget ownership, forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
  • Manage financial operations including budgeting, cash flow, capital structure, regulatory compliance, tax, and financial control to optimise resource utilisation, profitability, and growth.
  • Provide strategic leadership focused on people management and sustainable organisational structures.
  • Accountable for securing a strong talent pipeline.
  • Support strategic objectives in collaboration with senior leadership, including tracking and reporting progress.
  • Guide senior management in setting and achieving commercial strategies, growth targets, and pricing approaches to maximise revenue and competitiveness.
  • Drive efficiency initiatives through process improvements and system enhancements, prioritising employee and client experiences.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, inclusivity, and team empowerment.
  • Oversee finance department processes to ensure efficiency, with a focus on digital transformation.
  • Assess organisational strengths and weaknesses, conduct benchmarking, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead or support projects involving mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
  • Engage in investment and capital expenditure discussions, measuring and reporting on decision effectiveness.

Experience required

  • CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent financial qualification is essential.
  • Proven expertise in navigating the financial and business dimensions of professional services or asset-light organisations
  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving abilities that drive impactful solutions
  • Extensive experience leading a global function with strategic oversight and operational excellence
  • Demonstrated success in a senior leadership role (Senior Director level), ideally within financial services or professional services, with a track record of driving organisational growth
  • Inspiring and decisive leadership capabilities with a history of empowering teams
  • Deep understanding of business practices and financial principles, applying them to foster innovation and efficiency
  • Highly proficient in MS Office tools, leveraging them for data-driven insights and streamlined work flows
