Robert Half is partnering with a leading waste management business at the forefront of renewable energy innovation, and they're seeking a talented Finance Business Partner to join their team in Glasgow. As a Finance Business Partner, you'll be more than just a numbers person. You'll be a strategic advisor, translating financial data into actionable commercial insights that drive profitability and growth. You'll bridge the gap between finance and operations, ensuring that every decision is informed by sound financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to operational teams and senior leadership, providing crucial financial insights to optimise business performance and drive commercial outcomes.

Profitability & Forecasting: Collaborate with operational stakeholders to develop robust financial models, analyse key performance indicators, and deliver accurate long-term forecasts that support strategic business decisions.

Cost Control & Strategic Planning: Analyse variances, identify cost optimisation opportunities, and contribute to strategic planning initiatives that maximise return on investment in renewable energy ventures.

Budgeting & Financial Modelling: Develop and evaluate budgets aligned with sustainability and renewable energy goals and create sophisticated financial models to support investment decisions and scenario planning.

Data-Driven Recommendations: Leverage data-driven analysis to present clear, commercially focused recommendations to senior leadership, driving informed decisions on investment opportunities and operational improvements.

This role provides an ideal platform for a newly qualified CA to transition into industry. Alternatively, if you are a current industry professional, it offers a challenging new role where you can significantly expand your commercial experience and influence. You'll apply your technical expertise in IFRS, financial analysis, and modelling to real-world commercial challenges, gaining (or enhancing) invaluable experience in a fast-paced, innovative sector.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent):With relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Strong Commercial Acumen:A clear understanding of P&L drivers, cost management, and financial forecasting, with the ability to translate financial data into commercial insights.
  • Analytical & Influential:Excellent analytical skills with a proven track record of influencing decision-making at a senior level.
  • Collaborative & Communicative:Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and communicate complex financial information effectively.
  • Passion for Sustainability:A keen interest in contributing to a sustainable future and driving innovation in the renewable energy sector.
