Your new companyThis is an exciting opportunity to join a busy finance team working for one of Glasgow's most prestigious employers. This is a newly created position and will help to ensure the effective running of the transactional finance team. This role is available on a permanent basis and has a number of excellent benefits available, such as final salary pension and 42 days annual leave.

Your new roleWithin this role you will manage and lead the department's Finance Operations Function, ensuring the delivery of service excellence to both internal and external customers whilst delivering exceptional value to enable the department to meet its strategic goals and remain financially sustainable. This role will be a key contributor to driving forward and embedding a programme of process improvement by challenging the status quo of existing finance processes and procedures, delivering business efficiencies and ensuring adherence to financial control frameworks and compliance with policy.You will lead and manage service delivery of the Operations Team to ensure a robust and high quality service is delivered. This will involve planning & organising work in the short, medium and long term, ensuring activity and plans align to the Finance strategy, and you will develop the skills and capability of the team through effective recruiting, coaching, training and mentoring, working closely with the Deputy Head of Finance to develop robust succession planning across the department. You will work closely with members of the executive team and provide guidance which supports the wider college strategy. You will also have the chance to recommend changes and support a culture of continuous improvement as well as managing a team, providing excellent leadership and development to the team.

What you'll need to succeedYou will have experience of working in a similar role and will be qualified via CCAB or working towards a qualification, and you will have excellent knowledge of business processes, management information systems and finance operations. Experience of Agresso would also be advantageous. In addition, you will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and be able to relay complex financial information in a straightforward manner to finance and non-finance professionals alike. You will be able to manage multiple deadlines and be highly organised.
