The primary role of the File Checker working with the Financial Planning network is to support the IFAs with checking regulated advice files.

The File Checker will report directly to the Head of Regulated Sales. A normal working day involves dealing with many deadlines that demand immediate attention.

Key attributes:

Working knowledge and understanding of an IFA network.

Experienced file checker (paraplanning reports) or paraplanner with the following experience:

  • pension switches and other pension related advice.
  • AIM, EIS & VCT
  • Good working knowledge of FCA guidance and Cobs rules relevant to the role.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to work independently and on own initiative.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Fluency in IT and office applications.
  • Ability to analyse data/reports draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Proactive and innovative thinker.
  • Be approachable and able to build strong relationships with all levels.
  • Occasional travel and stays away from home

Key Responsibilities:

  • File Checking.
  • Providing constructive, well thought out feedback to supervisors, paraplanners and IFAs on advice documentation, advice processes and advice documents.
  • Spotting trends as and when they are evident.
  • Be an active menmber of the T&C committee.
  • Ensuring important tasks and deadlines are achieved.
  • Preparing reports for the compliance committee.
  • Have full Diploma in Financial Services
