Your new companyand roleHays' client is a major financial services organisation based in Glasgow. Our client is looking for an experienced individual who will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and administration of both the Jira and SharePoint platforms. You will work closely with various teams to implement solutions that enhance productivity and streamline business processes. The role will consist of the following responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain Jira projects, workflows, permissions, and schemes to meet organisational needs.
  • Manage and maintain the SharePoint environment, including site collections, libraries, lists, and user permissions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency on both platforms.
  • Develop and maintain custom dashboards, reports, and filters in Jira, and configure SharePoint sites, workflows, forms, and web parts.
  • Monitor system performance for both Jira and SharePoint, implementing optimisations to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Support SharePoint migration from legacy tenant to new tenant.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for issues related to Jira and SharePoint.
  • Conduct training sessions and create documentation to educate users on Jira and SharePoint functionalities and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices for data protection and access control on both platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest features and updates for Jira and SharePoint, assessing their applicability to the organisation.

What you'll need to succeedThe following skills and experience are essential for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Jira Administrator and/or SharePoint Administrator.
  • Strong understanding of Jira workflows, schemes, and configurations, as well as SharePoint architecture, administration, and configuration.
  • Experience with Jira add-ons and integrations, and SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Python, PowerShell) for automation and customisation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The following skills and experience are desirable for this role:

  • Certifications in Jira Administration and/or SharePoint Administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Administrator Associate).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and related services (e.g., Teams, OneDrive) and SharePoint development tools and technologies (e.g., SPFx, PowerApps, Power Automate)
