Brightwork recruitment are currently looking for an experienced multi skilled technician to join our client based in Blantyre.

The position forms part of the Blantyre production team and is a multi skilled role covering a number of functions within the team:

Specific duties

  • Responsible for operating production line as part of a team.
  • To respond to specific requests for basic engineering, repairs and maintenance throughout the Blantyre facility.
  • 3rd party supplier management for complex engineering tasks
  • To minimise production line down time through an effective system of planned maintenance and prompt corrective actions in the event of breakdowns.
  • To respond quickly to breakdowns.
  • To ensure full documentation and records are maintained in respect of maintenance and breakdowns.
  • To recommend appropriate courses of action for line improvements and manage the implementation of new equipment in conjunction with suppliers and manufacturers.

Ideal candidate

  • Experience in working in a food manufacturing environment (Essential)
  • Mechanical & Electrical engineering experience (Essential)
  • Basic welding qualifications and experience (Essential)
  • Microsoft Office skills (Desirable)
  • Full driving license (Essential)
