We are representing a prominent contractor in the rail and civil engineering sector, seeking an experienced Possession Planner to oversee access planning for a busy portfolio of capital delivery projects and asset management frameworks. This role involves managing a team of possession planners and handling all necessary documentation to ensure project success.About the Role As the Lead Possession Planner, you will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Track Access Team (TAP) in Scotland. You will collaborate closely with project managers and construction teams to optimize possession planning and ensure compliance with Network Rail requirements. You will also prepare and manage possession schedules, monitor changes, and ensure the submission of safety-critical documentation in line with railway group standards.Key Responsibilities - Lead the Scotland Track Access Team in day-to-day planning activities- Liaise with project management on all access planning matters- Work with construction and estimating teams to identify optimal possession times- Prepare the Master/Contract possession schedules and related documentation- Ensure possession and protection requests comply with Network Rail timescales and formats- Plan and organize possession and protection arrangements- Monitor and report on possession planning changes- Prepare safety-critical documents in accordance with railway group standards- Attend and arrange possession meetings with clients- Identify project risks and opportunities and manage them accordingly- Submit road closure requests as necessaryRequirements - Proven experience as a Lead Possession Planner or Access Planner, with team management experience- Expertise in PPS planning and SSOW planning (Core Level 2 qualification)- PTS certification and trained as Controller of Site Safety (COSS)- Strong knowledge of the Network Rail Rule Book, Sectional Appendices, Hazard Directory, and Environmental Assessments- Full UK driving licenseWhat's on Offer- Competitive salary, negotiable based on experience- Company car or car allowance- Strong support and infrastructure for personal and professional development, offering clear career progression opportunities- Consistent learning and development opportunitiesIf you're ready to lead a team in a fast-paced environment and contribute to major infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you.
