Sales Engineer - Scotland, Ireland, and Northern Ireland

My client is a globally recognized leader in bolting solutions, specializing in the tightening and loosening of bolted joints from M16 (3/8") upwards. As a privately-owned engineering company based in Germany, we operate through twelve subsidiaries, including in the UK, and over 40 global representatives. With more than 200 international patents, we are at the forefront of innovation in bolting technology, serving major sectors such as power generation, offshore and maritime, and general engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Acquisition: Identify and win new customers in targeted markets, including Power Generation, Defence, Commercial Vehicles, Hydropower, Diesel & Gas Engines, Cranes, and Construction Machines.
  • Client Management: Develop and nurture relationships with existing clients, identifying new opportunities for growth.
  • Market Presence: Actively engage in the market to understand customer needs, both current and future.
  • Solution Support: Provide technical support and bolting solutions at relevant customer sites.
  • Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the UK Sales Manager to create and implement a sales plan for your territory.

Your Profile

  • Experience: 5 to 10 years of proven success in industrial sales, preferably with OEM products.
  • Education: Background in mechanical engineering (apprenticeship, HND, or degree level).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and customer development skills are essential, along with structured and organized working methods.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work from home while regularly visiting customer sites in Scotland and northern England.
  • Relationship Building: Strong aptitude for quickly establishing rapport with new clients.
  • Technical Aptitude: Capability to learn and retain technical knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Business Development: Conduct research and build a healthy pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate within a small, focused, and successful team environment.
