First People Solutions is currently recruiting for a Sub Agent to join a well-established civil engineering contractor, working on a significant Rail Civils Renewal Framework in Scotland. This is an excellent chance to be involved in enhancing Scotland's rail infrastructure on projects with values ranging from 500k to 3m such as bridge replacements, tunnels, flood alleviation & repairs, earthworks & embankments and rail platforms and station infrastructure

This role would be perfect for a Site Engineer looking to take their first steps into a management role

The Role:

As a Sub-Agent, you'll take responsibility for the planning and execution of site-based work across Scotland. You'll play a key part in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Day to day responsibilities would include:

Liaison with site staff and managing surveyor to ensure tender allowances are not exceeded.
The continuous monitoring of contract progress to ensure contract objectives are being met.
Ensuring that in conjunction with the site team changes to the contract are identified, agreed and effectively managed.
The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Contracts Manager.

What We're Looking For:

Degree / HNC or HND in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role)
Experience as a Sub Agent or a Senior Site Engineer level in a civil engineering contracting environment
Experience working on multi-disciplinary rail or civils infrastructure projects for a civil engineering contractor
