Scottish Power Transmissions are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join them on a long term contract basis.

Role: Health & Safety Advisor
Business: Scottish Power Transmissions
Location: Scottish Power Cambuslang (site based)
Duration: 12 month rolling contract
Rate: Inside IR35, Umbrella and PAYE options available

About the Role

  • As a Safety Advisor you will be working as part of project teams on multi-million-pound energy construction projects. You will advise, coach, mentor, influence and monitor best practice projects safety management. Assisting with the effective coordination of Contractor safe works methodologies and client interface activities will be a primary focus along with auditing, monitoring, reviewing, and reporting.
  • You will support the project team – this includes interaction with engineering, project management, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure effective works planning and coordination with regard to Health and safety performance to ensure everyone affected by our activities remain safe.


Requirements

  • Experience gained in an engineering and construction safety role relating to energy projects e.g. generation projects, transmission networks or a closely related large scale construction project.
  • Fully Microsoft Office conversant
  • Health and Safety Qualification ranging from European Qualifications Framework levels, 8, 7, 6 or 5 (dependent on IOSH acceptance criteria),
  • IOSH Technical Member status or above.


Desirable Criteria

  • Occupational Health and Safety Degree
  • Formal certified qualifications in 45001 Internal or Lead auditor
  • Trained Structured Incident Investigation Technique
  • Registered with IOSH for ‘Initial Professional Development' (IPD) and the IOSH ‘Continuing Professional Development' (CPD) scheme
