What you'll be doing 

  • Developing and implementing health, safety, and wellbeing policies, procedures, and service delivery.
  • Playing a crucial role in ensuring the continuous improvement of our health, safety, and wellbeing performance. Providing subject matter expertise and direction, helping to create a safe and supportive environment for all our colleagues.
  • Providing practical advice and oversee the Bank's compliance with legislative requirements, while supporting complex cases.
  • Offering sound support, advice, and guidance to the wider business.
  • Reviewing, analysing, and presenting relevant management information (MI) data to key stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining internal and external relationships with the wider HR team, Senior Management, Regulators, Trade Unions, and third-party suppliers.

We need you to have

  • Substantial experience at Advisor level, with IOSH membership and NEBOSH Health and Safety Certificate or equivalent.
  • Qualified in fire safety and risk assessment, with broad knowledge of health, safety, and wellbeing legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging at all organisational levels.
  • Proven strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and meet deadlines independently.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly in health and safety reporting databases and Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
  • Pragmatic, flexible, and able to build strong relationships, influence others, and make effective decisions.

It's a bonus if you have but not essential

  • Experience working within the Financial Services environment.
  • Understanding of HR functionality.
  • A wellbeing qualification - NEBOSH wellbeing certificate or equivalent.
