Our client, a leading organisation in the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced IT Application Delivery Manager to lead, develop, and embed a newly formed IT Application Delivery team. Based in Glasgow City Centre, this is a fantastic opportunity to shape a team of application designers and developers across a range of experiences and technical disciplines.

The IT Application Delivery Manager will have a strong technology delivery background in a financial services environment ideally, with proven leadership skills to manage and develop a high-performing technical delivery team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of quality IT solutions, enhancing technical ownership, and working closely with senior stakeholders to align resourcing with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, support, and mentor an application delivery team, ensuring accountability and ownership across all services.
  • Optimised Delivery: Establish and document best practices for delivery, ensuring a results-driven and outcome-oriented approach. Work closely with Change teams and delivery partners to ensure project success.
  • Risk & Resource Management: Identify risks and implement mitigation plans while maintaining a clear view of capability demand and ensuring sufficient resources.
  • Centre of Excellence: Develop team improvement plans to optimise value from packaged COTS solutions and bespoke in-house developments.
  • Service Support: Provide third-line support for critical business issues, driving root cause analysis to enhance future delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior business leaders and third-party providers.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all processes adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies while maintaining strict release and quality control procedures.
  • Technical Proficiency: Offer input into complex solutions alongside technical leads.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular one-to-one reviews to enhance team performance and service delivery.

In order to be successful in the role, candidates need,

  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience engaging stakeholders up to executive level.
  • Proven track record in leading and developing multi-skilled teams.
  • Experience working with third-party software providers
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate multiple solutions.
  • In-depth business knowledge of Life, Pensions, and Investment products ideally
  • Experience delivering regulatory projects within the Life/Pensions sector.
  • Familiarity with workflow solutions and proficiency in JIRA for task tracking.
