Days only HGV Technician needed

Glasgow

Our client, an independent business providing service and maintenance to several world renowned brands of commercial vehicles, is seeking for a HGV Technician to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within commercial vehicle and fleet service industry . The technician will be part of an ambitious team and work within a busy service department to facilitate the smooth and efficient running of the department and ensure it meets its targets.

Role:HGV Technician

Hours:Monday to Friday 8am -5pm,with 1 hour unpaid lunch break

Location:Glasgow

Requirements:

  • Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (HGV) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working on HGVs, ideally with a range of models and types.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and a good understanding of vehicle systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Full, valid UK driving license (HGV license preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Diagnose faults and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform MOT preparation and repairs as required.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork, including service reports, parts orders, and vehicle records.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet service deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
