Overview:I am currently working with a client who is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in supporting the company’s IT infrastructure, working across a variety of systems and technologies, and ensuring seamless IT service delivery to the team.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line diagnosis for incidents and service requests, implementing solutions where possible.

  • Ensure timely escalation of incidents to 3rd line support.

  • Research software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQs to resolve issues and update internal knowledge.

  • Perform preventative maintenance, ensuring workstations, printers, and peripherals are properly maintained.

  • Support the ongoing operational efficiency of all IT systems across the firm.

  • Install and configure enterprise hardware and software solutions.

  • Maintain network and PC operating systems, while also supporting server and client PC software.

  • Assist in the professional development of IT team members by promoting technical skill transfer.

  • Provide support for Microsoft Office 365, Teams, and associated telephony systems.

  • Manage banking and Pulse/Symphony administration.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Maintain reliable performance of the infrastructure through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Deliver a high-quality support service that meets agreed service levels and adheres to ITIL standards.

  • Ensure all support issues are resolved to the satisfaction of users.

  • Provide regular reports on support activities, comparing performance against service level agreements.

  • Adhere to firm-specific standards and methodologies.

  • Continuously develop professionally and work to achieve the highest standards of performance.

  • Fulfill other responsibilities as per the firm’s standard employment contract.

Personal Profile:The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in an IT support role at a similar level, preferably within a service desk environment. Experience within financial services or a professional services setting is desirable.

It is essential that the candidate has a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams. Experience with mobile devices (especially iPhones), networking (Wifi, LANs, WANs), and a good understanding of IT infrastructure is key.

Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—are essential, as the candidate will need to articulate technical solutions clearly to users. The ability to prioritise tasks effectively, work well under pressure, and pay attention to detail is vital for success in this role.

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent support knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Office applications.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft email systems and VoIP telephone systems.

  • Solid understanding of Wifi, LAN, and WAN configurations.

  • Experience with VMWare and Microsoft Configuration Manager.

  • Familiarity with Audio Video conferencing equipment.

Qualifications (Desirable):

  • HND/BTEC/Degree (preferably in IT, Maths, or Science).

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as MCSA or equivalent.
