We're recruiting a Senior IT Technician to join a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Glassgow city centre. This is a hybrid role, offering a mixture of remote work, on-site support, and visits to client sites. The position offers a dynamic mix of project work and escalated ticket support, perfect for someone looking to advance their career in IT.

The Role

As a Senior IT Technician, you'll handle 2nd and 3rd line support, providing solutions to complex technical issues and working on various IT projects. You'll be responsible for server management, network configuration, and working closely with clients on system implementations. A driving license is preferred for occasional client visits, but not essential.

Main Duties:

  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support for escalated IT issues
  • Work on IT projects such as server upgrades and network configurations
  • Support and maintain virtual environments (Hyper-V)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems
  • Assist with hardware and software setup, configuration, and maintenance
  • Ensure client systems' security and integrity
  • Occasionally visit client sites as required

Tech Requirements:

  • Hyper-V or other virtualisation technologies
  • Windows Server 2016/2019
  • Active Directory & Group Policy
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Networking (DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
  • Backup and recovery solutions
  • Firewall and security solutions
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues
