Industrial Refrigeration Engineer


Salary: 35,000-48,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)
Location: Glasgow
Hours: 40 hours per week

About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to join a leading provider in the refrigeration and HVAC industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid technical background in servicing and maintaining refrigeration and air conditioning systems, coupled with a customer-focused approach.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical issues, performing maintenance and repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality service delivery.



Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, and commissioning of refrigeration, air conditioning, and process plant systems.
  • Perform on-site equipment installations and ensure systems meet performance standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction and identifying new opportunities.
  • Provide detailed technical reports on work performed and recommendations for system optimization.
  • Supervise and train apprentices, supporting their professional development.
  • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety standards and contribute to safety improvements.


Candidate Profile


  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years in a similar role.
    • Hands-on experience with ammonia and CO? systems is highly desirable.
    • Strong practical knowledge of both mechanical and electrical aspects of refrigeration systems.

  • Qualifications:
    • NVQ Level 2/3 in a relevant discipline preferred.
    • Health & Safety awareness, including safe handling of refrigerants such as ammonia and hydrocarbons.

  • Skills:
    • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective verbal and written communication.
    • Ability to work flexibly, including overtime and call-out duties as required.
