Mechanical Fitter (Nightshift)

£14.50 per hour (£33,930 Per Annum) + Holidays + Pension + Training and Development

Uddingston, Glasgow

Monday to Friday, 10pm to 7am.

Mechanical Fitter required for a market leading manufacturer who are growing and investing. They are a successful independent company offering a personable working environment along with opportunities for training and progression.

The Mechanical Fitter Role:

  •          Set up and walk the production lines prior to production starting to ensure there are no issues with regards to belts, line set-up, unconnected and untidy services.
  •          Follow direction from Production Managers and Engineering Team Leader and liaise with Shift Engineers regarding tasks to be undertaken.
  •          Ensure all equipment and machinery is kept clean by liaising with the appropriate cleaners.
  •          Repair and replace wire belts as and when required.
  •          Blade changes.
  •          Complete tooling changes in line with production plan.
  •          Monitor lines and responding to any basic mechanical engineering tasks in a timely manner and ensuring any electrical issues are reported to Engineering immediately.
  •          Assist engineers and production supervisors as and when required.
  •          Assist in the maintenance of the engineering stores by identifying parts and raising parts requisition forms for repairs and stock replenishment.
  •          Ensuring stores booking in and out procedures are being adhered to.

The Successful Mechanical Fitter:

  •          Experience of using tools.
  •          Having any form of Engineering qualification will be advantageous.
  •          Any Technical background that relates or transfers to Mechanical Engineering will be considered.
