Job description

First Achieve's Engineering Division have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join an established and growing company in the East Glasgow region.

What's on Offer:

  • A 39hr work week Monday to Friday
  • 32 days of holiday per year
  • Profit sharing bonus scheme (as high as £6k per year)
  • Hourly rate of £18/hr
  • 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday
  • 8am to 3:30pm Friday
  • Flexible starting and finishing times if required

This role will require you to work within an assembly workshop, coordinate and work under the supervisor and operations manager, and deliver high quality work in a timely manner.

Duties will involve the following:

  • Assembly of various hydraulically operated machinery.
  • Inspection of various components prior to assembly.
  • Using conventional & specialised tools for assembly.
  • Assembly of hydraulic valves onto manifolds.
  • Assist in the creation of standard working procedures for typical processes.
  • Work as part of a team to contribute to the continuous improvement of the department, via productivity or efficiency improvements.
  • Adhere to good housekeeping practice, to ensure all equipment and working areas are kept clean and tidy.

Essential skills, experience and knowledge:

The successful candidate must:

  • Have previous experience in mechanical fitting
  • Have the ability to read mechanical assembly and detail drawings
  • Ideally have experience with inspection technics
  • Have a full UK Drivers Licence
  • Be open to the very occasional requirement to travel worldwide to oversee and respond to component troubleshooting
