Town Planner

Location: Glasgow

Are you an experienced Town Planner or Planning Manager looking for an exciting new opportunity in Glasgow?

We are recruiting for a dynamic professional to join a successful Land and Planning team in West Scotland. This role offers you the chance to be part of a well-established team handling a range of planning applications, from large-scale developments to detailed site delivery.

The Role:

As a Town Planner, you'll work closely with the Land Director and be responsible for:

  • Leading all planning applications, including Outline, Full, and Reserved Matters, as well as managing planning conditions and Section 75 agreements.
  • Overseeing the masterplanning process and collaborating with layout designers, engineers, and external consultants.
  • Preparing planning assessments and a variety of technical documents to support applications.
  • Coordinating public consultations and providing clear feedback to stakeholders.
  • Assisting senior management in key business decisions and contributing as the planning expert in regional meetings.
  • Mentoring and training junior team members to ensure development and growth within the team.

What You'll Need:

  • Relevant experience in development management or planning, gained in either the public or private sector (e.g., Local Authority, Consultancy, or Developer).
  • A degree or master's in Planning, accredited by the RTPI.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to lead initiatives confidently.
  • A full UK driving licence.
