Associate – Banking and FinanceLocation: GlasgowSalary: From £60,000The TeamI am working along side my client, a national Banking and Finance team that is renowned for advising clients on a wide range of financing transactions across various sectors, often involving multi-jurisdictional elements. Acting for borrowers, lenders, and investors, they offer a practical understanding of the needs of all parties to a financing transaction.Their expertise includes corporate lending, leveraged finance, asset finance, real estate finance (investment and development), project finance, and invoice discounting, on both bilateral and syndicated bases. The firm collaborate closely with some of the UK’s leading banks and financial institutions, holding approved panel status with many of them.The RoleMy client are looking for a talented Associate to join their growing team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile, complex transactions while shaping the future of the local practice as part of a well-established national team.You will work on diverse financing transactions and take ownership of the full transaction lifecycle, including:
  • Drafting and negotiating facility agreements and security documents (LMA and non-LMA forms).
  • Negotiating intercreditor arrangements.
  • Managing conditions precedent processes and other aspects of live lending transactions.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members.
You will also actively contribute to client development initiatives, strengthening relationships with existing clients and attracting new business. Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • 2-6 years PQE with strong general banking and finance experience from a reputable firm 
  • A proactive approach and passion for the banking and finance sector.
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with borrowers, lenders, and investors.
  • Experience across leveraged finance, real estate finance, corporate lending, and asset-based lending (ABL).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling you to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
