Transport Administrator (Temporary)

Location: Queenslie (Glasgow)
Duration: 3-6 months Temporary
Hourly rate: 13.26 per hour

Are you organised, detail-oriented, and ready to support a dynamic transport team? I am currently recruiting for a temporary Transport Administrator to assist in the day-to-day operations of our client for 3 - 6 months initially.

You will be office based working Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm, with 1 hour lunch. This will be an immediate start, so you must be available to start work with no notice period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Transport Manager and department with various administrative tasks
  • Raise purchase orders and track monthly expenditure
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date spreadsheets and records
  • Communicate effectively with customers via phone and email, addressing any queries
  • Assist with workload management for the Transport Supervisor/Manager
  • Engage with drivers in person and via the phone
  • Help plan routes for drivers and schedule vehicle servicing and MOTs
  • Address invoice queries with the Accounts team
  • Ensure compliance with legal obligations through effective data management
  • Support month-end reporting and other duties as needed for smooth fleet operations

Experience required:

  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP or similar systems
  • Experienced Administrative background, ideally within a Transport department
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced environment and changing priorities
  • Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
