We are seeking a dedicated Transport and Distribution Manager to join our Distribution Centre team in Glasgow.

The role involves managing and coordinating the efficient transportation of goods for a well established 3rd Party Logistics provider.

Description

  • Oversee and manage all transportation operations within the Logistics department.
  • Coach, develop and lead transport team to deliver high customer service excellence.
  • Ensure the safe and timely transportation of goods.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve transportation processes and reduce costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Manage relationships with transportation providers and vendors.
  • Prepare and present transportation reports to senior management.
  • Implement strategies to enhance transportation efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance scheduling.
  • Ensure site HSE standards are adhered to.

Profile

A successful Transport Manager should have:

  • A CPC certification
  • Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field or qualified by experience
  • Transport experience in HGV Fleet - Direct to Consumer Deliveries
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using logistics and transportation management software.
  • Sound knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
